The cow is one animal that continues to feed multitudes long after it has been slaughtered for walking funny.

Reports coming out of the UK about Mad Cow Mountains are sad indeed. The
millions of cows slaughtered during the wildly exaggerated mad cow scare
have ended up on 13 dumps across southeast England.  For those taking notes
these dumps hold 400,000 tons of meat and bone meal. And the country is fast
running out of room to house these remains.

What's worse is that rats and other venom are having a field day at these
sites, getting regular high protein meals at the tax payer's expense. There
have been reports from Barkston Heath, long a depressed area, that some
residents are using these rendered remains as a kind of hamburger helper.

James Newtonstewart, a local doctor, observed that "while this dietary
practice might be unsavory, it probably doesn't do much harm. After all,
these were healthy cows slaughtered to appease the European Union. I'd
suggest a lot of ketchup."

Another solution, proposed by the Mad Cow Culture Club-a kind of honorary
society dedicated to remembering the cow-is to bottle these remains and make
them available free to anyone who shares their love of the cow.  News agents
across Britain are serving as distributors.

For those with a Texas-size appetite mounds of cow-up to a short ton-are
being auctioned off on Ebay.  Cow remains not sold will be given to homeless
shelters across Europe.
